BRANDYWINE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County Police Department said they have identified the victim of a fatal crash that happened on July 18, in Brandywine as a 31-year-old woman from Gaithersburg.

Police said, the crash involving five cars happened around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of Branch Avenue and Accokeek Road. Knadejah Francis, 31, of Gaithersburg, a passenger in one of the cars, was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died of her injuries on July 23.

According to authorities, investigation shows that the driver of a Ford Mustang tried to make an illegal left turn onto Accokeek Road coming southbound from Branch Avenue. Police said, a car that was going northbound on Branch Avenue hit the Ford and pushed it into two cars, which were sitting at the light on Accokeek Road. Police said, one of the stopped cars hit a firth car at the light.

Authorities said, the driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.
