GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WUSA9) -- Montgomery County police say a 47-year-old woman who was found dead inside of a home in Gaithersburg Sunday was murdered by her husband.
Fifty-one-year-old Cola Winbone Beale has been arrested for the murder of his wife, June Carlita Beale. He is being held in Norfolk, Virginia awaiting extradition.
Police say June Beale was found around 10:34 a.m. Sunday. A parishioner of a church that the couple attended told police that Cola Beale had called him stating that he had killed his wife inside their home in the 18300 block of Hallmark Court.
Montgomery County police have spoken directly to Cola Beale on his cell phone, during which police say he admitted to killing his wife. He also told police where in Norfolk he could be found.
June Beale's body has been transported for an autopsy to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore.
The homicide is still under investigation.
