HAGERSTOWN Md. (WUSA9) -- Police are investigating a tractor-trailer crash on I-81 that left one man injured Friday morning.
Maryland State Police say a 2003 Dodge Durango was going southbound on I-81, when the vehicle attempted to exit onto Salem Avenue from the left lane and was struck by a tractor-trailer traveling right.
The crash caused the Durango to roll several times into a wooded area and hit a tree, according to police.
Police say the driver of the Durango, identified as 53-year-old Timothy Parks Sr., of Hagerstown, was not wearing a seat-belt at the time of the crash. He was thrown into the rear seat, extracted and transported to Meritus Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the Food Lion tractor-trailer, 45-year-old Stephen Gallahan, of Hagerstown, was not injured.
Police say alcohol was a factor. This accident is under investigation.
