FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- The Frederick County of Transportation Engineering advises the public that work will start on MD 85 at I-270 on or after May 5, 2014.
This is part of the Short Term Improvement Project, which the Francis O. Day Company Inc. of Rockville is working on at this particular location.
The department said the work will include roadway widening, storm water management facilities, drainage improvements, placement of traffic barrier, reconstruction of an existing traffic signal, maintenance of traffic and signing and marking.
The northern limits of work on MD 85 are around the intersection with Spectrum Drive and the southern limits of work are on the Interstate 270 overpass of MD 85.
A lot of the work within the Maryland State Highway Administration right-of-way on MD 85 is planned to be done during the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Weather permitted, the construction will be done by late fall 2014.
