LAUREL, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police arrested a man in connection with two gas station burglaries, including one in which an ATM was stolen after a vehicle pursuit early Thursday morning.
Howard County Police said the car chase happened in the area of 7th Street and Gorman Avenue around 3:42 a.m. Police said they were chasing a truck that was used in two gas station robberies. Deputies pursued the truck into the city where it eventually crashed and the suspects the fled on foot, authorities said.
According to authorities, the Laurel Police helped in the foot chase. The suspects ran to an apartment building in the 800 block of 8th Street, where they took one man into custody. The other person ran inside the building.
Police said deputies started to set up a perimeter to isolate the other suspect and then saw him come from underneath a stairwell. A woman resident of an apartment was leaving out her door when the suspect shoved her and forced his way into her apartment police said.
Police then ordered the man to come out. The man was identified as 31-year-old Muyideen Ayinla Nureni Jr. Both of the men were turned over to the Howard County Police.
Police said they will be obtaining an arrest warrant charging Nureni with the assault and burglary that happened.
