PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police say it is unusual to have two officer involved shootings in the same day, however that is exactly what happened.
Police responded to an incident around 1 p.m. Saturday on Temple Hill Road in Clinton. Officers said they had been to this home before. The woman inside the home called the police saying someone was trying to force their way inside the house.
When deputies got to the home they saw a man running from the home to a get away vehicle. Police tried to stop the suspects, however they kept going at a high rate of speed and hit an officer in the process, authorities said.
Police then shot at the suspects and hit both of them. They still ended up getting away.
Later on Saturday police found the suspects at two separate hospitals. According to authorities, both are suffering from gunshot wounds but are expected to survive.
In a separate incident Saturday, two Prince George's County officers were involved in another shooting on Marlboro Pike in Capital Heights.
Police say they heard shots fired in the area and saw an armed man just before 4 a.m. Police say when they approached the suspect, who was reaching for a handgun in his waistband.
One of the officers drew their weapon and shot him multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
