WALDORF, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man was arrested Tuesday for assaulting a 30-year-old woman and 12-year-old child after forcibly entering the home in Waldorf, Md.
The Charles County Sheriff's Office said the incident happened at 2:30 a.m. in the 5100 block of Sea Lion Place in Waldorf.
According to the investigation, Jason Richard Gantt, 30, of Temple Hills, entered the house and assaulted a woman and a child.
Officers arrested Gantt and charged him with first- and second-degree burglary and two counts of second-degree assault.
Officers said Gantt is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner.
The investigation revealed that Gantt and the victims are known to one another.
