GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Anne Arundel County police have arrested a man who they say cut his girlfriend with a knife and then hid in a nearby stairwell.
Thomas Maurice Sellman, 21, has been charged with First and Second Degree Assault, reckless endangerment and weapons charges.
At 10 p.m. on March 12, police responded to a residence in the 300 block of Old Stage Road for a report of an armed person with a gun.
Police say Sellman pointed a shotgun at his girlfriend during an altercation. There were other people in the residence at the time who were able to get the gun away from him. Sellman then produced a knife and cut his girlfriend on her hand, according to police.
Sellman left the residence before police arrived. Police say they found him hiding in the stairwell of a nearby apartment where he was arrested.
The victim was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center for a non-life threatening injury.
