GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WUSA9) -- A fire that started in a Glen Burnie home early Sunday morning, left two people injured.

Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded to a two-story single family home in the 7300 block of Dotson Lane in Glen Burnie around 1:20 a.m., according to authorities.

Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from the basement and the first floor of the home, authorities said. At that time, more crews were called to the scene. About 35 personnel helped get the fire under control within about an hour, according to authorities.

Three people were in the house at the time of the fire. They were alerted by the smoke detectors in the house and got out before the crews arrived, authorities said.

Two of the occupants were taken to the hospital. The first victim, a 25-year-old woman suffered from smoke inhalation. She has serious but non-life threatening injuries, according to authorities.

The second victim is a 66-year-old woman who was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. She got the injuries when she exited the house from a second-story window.

Authorities said two firefighters were also taken to the hospital for evaluation.

The fire was accidental, and damage to the house is estimated at $65,000.
