BROOKLYN PARK, Md. (WUSA9) -- A home invasion involving a couple and ex-boyfriend led to several charges, say Anne Arundel County Police.
Police say on Friday morning at 12:30, officers responded to the 200 block of 3rd Avenue in Brooklyn Park in reference to a dispute. They later found out it was a home invasion.
According to police, Corey Knapp of Glen Burnie and Kayla Baxter of Linthicum walked up to the home, opened the door and entered. They then got into an argument with the people inside the home. Police say Knapp tried to stab one of the victims with a butcher knife when the victims tried to force him to leave the home.
Knapp and Baxter struggled with the victims until they were forced out of the front door.
Police say they later found out that the suspects and victims knew each other, and the incident involved a couple and a former boyfriend.
After their vehicle was found in the 6000 block of Ritchie Highway, Knapp and Baxter were taken into custody without incident, say police. Police say Knapp was found with a small amount of marijuana.
Knapp, who is 23 years old, was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, reckless endangerment and possession of CDS-marijuana
Baxter, who is 25 years old, was charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree assault.
