WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Timing is everything, especially when it comes to weather and traffic in the Washington region.

Wednesday morning's light snowfall has turned area roads into virtual parking lots.

In Silver Spring, Route 29 South is closed between Sligo Creek Parkway and Franklin Avenue with an overturned car.

In Upper Marlboro, Rt. 4 is closed due to a truck fire after Route 301 right near an earlier crash, reports WUSA9's Monika Samtani.

The Inner Loop of I-495 (Capital Beltway) is jammed from Springfield across the Legion Bridge to College Park. That's approximately 35 miles.

I-70 South is backed up past Clarksburg. I-95 South is backed up to Columbia, Maryland.

Eastbound Route 50 was closed for more than an hour after cars spun out on the overpass over Carlin Springs Road.

WUSA9 employees are reporting commutes that are nearly double the norm. One person in Oakton reports he drove four miles in one hour.
