HUNTINGTOWN, Md. (WUSA9) -- Maryland State Fire Marshal Bomb Squad officials say that a woman cleaning out the storage shed of her deceased relative found "unexploded military ordnance" there on the morning of February 14th.
The plastic shed was located in the 3300 block of Bayside Road in Huntingtown. Crews found that most items were military novelty items but there were some live military training ordnance. Officials did not reveal the particular ordnance found at the location.
Crews collected the live ordnance and prepared it for safe disposal, say officials. Crews were at the scene for about an hour.
No one was injured during the incident.
Officials remind people to contact the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office if they encounter any unknown military ordnance.
