LAUREL, Md. (WUSA9) -- The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) says excess waters have receded from the rain, so the City of Laurel will reopen the train commuter lot at the American Legion and the path along Riverfront Park on Monday.
Earlier Monday morning, a spokesperson with the Maryland Transportation Administration said The American Legion Lot remained closed until further notice at Laurel station. Officials closed the parking lot due to anticipated severe flooding on Sunday.
Officials warned that parking capacity would be reduced by at least 40 percent and that there would probably be no parking left at Laurel after the departure of Train 845 at 6:50 a.m.
