LANDOVER, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police say they have arrested a man for helping Davon Wallace after he shot and killed a three-year-old girl in Landover.
Prince George's County Police have charged Brian Ray Campbell of Landover with first degree murder, second degree murder, manslaughter, accessory before the fact, accessory after the fact and other related charges. He was arrested on Wednesday and is being held in jail without bond.
Police are still looking for Davon Wallace. He is accused of shooting three-year-old Knijah Bibb. Bibb was shot in the 6900 block of Forest Terrace. Police say she was not the intended target.
There was an argument going on between Wallace and another male, police said. Shots were fired into the home and hit the child.
According to Bibb's grandmother, the girl was at a cousin's house being watched and visiting with other children. The grandmother stated that the suspect and cousin had an argument over clothing. She says the suspect claimed the clothes that the cousin was wearing belonged to him. She said the girl was running out of a room to a hallway when she was hit by gunfire. Wallace ran away after the shooting, authorities said.
Wallace is charged with first degree murder. Police tell us that he was an acquaintance of a resident in the home where the shooting took place. He lives nearby the home.
Wallace has a long criminal history, going back to 2007. Offenses range from traffic offenses and drug charges to burglary and dog fighting.
