FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- A 24-year-old Maryland woman was sentenced Monday to 30 years in jail for child abuse resulting in death.
Elizabeth Oxnard Tramonte, of Frederick, pleaded guilty in March to the charges. Tramonte's 3-month old child, Blake, was killed in November of 2011.
An autopsy's report ruled the cause of death as asphyxia, with acute injuries of facial bruising and bleeding under the scalp, according to officials. The boy also had three rib fractures in various stages of healing.
Tramonte will serve at least 20 years followed by five years probation. Additionally, she cannot have unsupervised vontact with any child under the age of five, including any children she may have in the future.
