FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. (WUSA9) -- The Frederick County Sheriff's Office suspended a deputy for being arrested Sunday for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Robert Phillips, a deputy first class and seven year veteran of the office is on administrative leave with pay as of Sunday, according to the sheriff's office.
Phillips was arrested by the Brunswick Police Department, authorities said. He has had his police powers suspended and will be place on a non-law enforcement position until the case is adjudicated in court, the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff's office added, they will do an internal investigation.
