FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA9) -- The Virginia Department of Transportation announced the HOV lanes on I-395/95 from the D.C. line to Dumfries, south of Exit 152 will close starting Friday night until Sunday afternoon.
The lanes will close at 11 p.m. Friday and reopen Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. VDOT said when the HOV lanes reopen Sunday they will be heading in the north direction.
As part of the 95 Express Lanes Project Construction, crews will be working on overhead sign structures and pulling fiber optic lines for the installation of future tolling equipment, according to VDOT.
After this weekend's work, the daytime HOV weekend closures will not be implemented for the rest of April, VDOT said.
The 95 Express Lanes are on schedule to be complete in late 2014 and open in early 2015.
