WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A D.C. man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for prostituting and sexually abusing a 15-year-old.
33-year-old Jason Whren of D.C. was sentenced on Tuesday, the U.S. Attorney's Office reported.
Whren contacted the victim on Facebook and built a relationship with girl online and via phone, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. Whren was able to convince the victim to come to D.C. from Seattle, Washington in December of 2012, the U.S. Attorney's office said.
Whren began having sex with the victim as soon as she arrived in D.C., soon after he began prostituting the teenager, the attorney's office stated.
The teen was forced to walk the streets and answer illicit internet ads in Northeast Washington between December 1st and 5th of 2012, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Undercover officers conducting an operation to locate child prostitutes eventually caught Whren, the attorney's office said. Whren plead guilty to first-degree sexual abuse of a child and pandering of a minor in March of 2014, the U.S. Attorney's Office reported.
