WASHINGTON (WUSA9/AP) -- Metro said Sunday afternoon a person was struck at Mt. Vernon Square station.
DC Fire Department responded to the incident, according to authorities. A Metro official said it appeared the person was intentionally in the way of the train.
Metro said trains on the green and yellow lines were bypassing Mt. Vernon Square as precaution during the investigation.
The injured person is being transported from the station to the hospital, authorities said. Normal train service has been restored. Trains are no longer single tracking in the area.
