WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- An early morning escalator issue at the Dupont Circle Metro station has been resolved, WMATA officials tell WUSA9.

One of the escalators at the station's south entrance stopped working, but maintenance crews were immediately dispatched and quickly restored service.

WMATA spokesperson Dan Stessel said reports indicating that there were no working escalators at the entrance were not true. Crews are working to determine the cause of the brief outage, but it's believed that someone hit the stop button, Stessel said.
