WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers have stopped three people with guns in their carry-ons in just two days, the agency reported.
Two of the people were stopped at BWI Airport, the third was stopped at DCA.
On Friday, TSA officers arrested a woman after they found a loaded .38 special handgun in her carry-on. On Thursday, a man was caught at BWI with a loaded 9mm handgun. Another man was caught with a .44 caliber handgun at DCA on Thursday, TSA reported.
TSA officers have found more than 1,000 firearms at security checkpoints across the country so far this year, the agency reports.
TSA reminds travelers that firearms, firearm parts and, ammunition are not permitted in carry-on bags.
