WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- D.C. police are now calling an assault with an intent to kill that occurred on Wednesday, a homicide.
Police said that at approximately 9:32 p.m. on Aug. 13 shot spotter -- a gunshot detection system -- recognized shots fired in the 4600 block of East Capitol St., SE. Moments later, officers responded to a call for a shooting at 46th Place and Central Avenue, NE.
Upon arrival, two adult male victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds were located along the unit block of 46th Place. The victims were admitted to a local hospital in critical and stable condition, respectively.
25-year-old Dexter Motley, of Southeast Washington succumbed to his injuries, police said Thursday.
