WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- D.C. police are investigating a motorcycle crash that killed a 17-year-old.
The accident occurred in the 3500 block of Alabama Avenue S.E. on Monday August 4th, police said.
Officials said a 17-year-old male was operating the motorcycle traveling eastbound at a high speed when he struck a curb. The driver was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and passed away on Wednesday August 6th, police said.
Officials have identified the driver as a resident of Temple Hills, Maryland.
Officials from the Prince George's County Police Department are also investigating an incident that took place Monday during which an officer pursued a dirt-bike driver who later crashed in D.C.
