WASHINGTON (AP) - Two Washington men have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms for killing a woman who was to testify against one them.
Twenty-four-year-old Willie Walker Jr. and 23-year-old Ricky Donaldson were sentenced Thursday in Superior Court after being convicted of first-degree premeditated murder while armed with aggravating circumstances. Walker was sentenced to 88 years in prison; Donaldson received a 45-year term.
According to government evidence, Walker repeatedly shot 44-year-old Delois Persha in March 2008 after the two argued. Persha survived and identified Walker as her assailant.
Prosecutors say Walker, Donaldson and others plotted to kill Persha. Authorities say Donaldson shot Persha on Sept. 13, 2008. She died five days later.
