WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- U.S. Marshals evicted Fire Lake Grill in Tenleytown on Tuesday, emptying the restaurant's belonging onto the sidewalk.
U.S. Marshals enforced the eviction because D.C. is federal jurisdiction. The District does not have a sheriff's department, so the Marshals act as one.
Fire Lake Grill is next to the WUSA9 Broadcast House. It's the second restaurant to open at the intersection of Van Ness and Wisconsin in the past five years. A Ruby Tuesday held the spot three years ago.
The U.S. Marshals public information officer told WUSA9 that the restaurant was being evicted but would not say why.
The normal eviction process takes on average 75 days from the time the owner or landlord calls until the actual eviction.
