After a concert by the United States Navy Band, a wreath-laying ceremony will take place the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. This year marks the 150th anniversary of the cemetery. The estate of Robert E. Lee was turned into a burial ground during the Civil War, in part to spite Lee, a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy. Metro running on Sunday schedule for Memorial Day

Metro says trains and most buses will run on a Sunday schedule for Memorial Day. Metro says the rail system will open at 7 a.m. Monday and close at midnight. Off-peak fares will be in effect all day, and parking is free at all Metrorail parking lots. Work is also taking place through the Memorial Day holiday. MORE

DC police release playground shooting video

DC police have released surveillance video that they say could be connected to a shooting near a playground in Southeast. It happened at a playground located on the 600 block of Morton Street. An adult male and a juvenile female were at the playground when an armed male suspect began shooting. Both victims were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said. MORE

2nd bottle bomb device explodes at Tysons theater

Officials say that for the second time in a week someone set off a bottle bomb at a movie theater complex in Fairfax County, leading to the evacuation of the theater but no injuries. Fairfax County fire officials say the latest incident happened around 2 a.m. Sunday. Two teenagers were exposed to the liquid inside the bottle but were not hurt. MORE
