WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- There are plenty of ways to celebrate the upcoming holiday weekend right here in the D.C. metro if you don't plan on heading to the beach or out of town. Here are a few ways to ensure the weekend is eventful.
National Memorial Day Concert

National Memorial Day Parade
Don't miss out on the parade of marching bands and veterans units from all 50 states at the National Memorial Day Parade on Monday. Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Rally
Watch thousands of motorcycles roll through the District in an annual demonstration to try and help improve veteran benefits. Arlington National Cemetery
Enjoy various events throughout Memorial Day at the Arlington National Cemetery. Don't miss out on a ceremony and concert at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in honor of Memorial Day on Monday at 11 a.m. At 4 p.m. the Women in Military Service for America Memorial will also have a ceremony with everything from military honors, to the Memorial's signature event.
Kicking off at 11 a.m. Saturday the Rolling Thunder will be stopping by the Navy Memorial and holding a wreath-laying ceremony with plenty of guests and live performances.
The Fleet Reserve Association Wreath laying will also take place at the Navy Memorial at 10 a.m. on Monday, followed by the US Navy Band Concert at noon and the Naval District Washington wreath laying at 1 p.m.
World War II Memorial
Join veterans Saturday as they come together at the World War II Memorial to celebrate its 10th anniversary. The remembrance will feature several speakers and will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
A commemoration sponsored by the National Park Service and Friends of the National World War II Memorial will take place on Monday at 9 a.m. and will also feature guest speakers.
Vietnam Veterans Memorial
Friends, families and veterans will gather at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at 1 p.m. on Monday to remember and honor the armed US forces.
Air Force Memorial
The wreath laying ceremony at the Air Force Memorial will take place on Monday at 9 a.m. and will feature various activities throughout the event.
President Lincoln's Cottage
The wreath laying kicks of at 10 a.m. at President Lincoln's Cottage. In addition, the USSAH National Cemetery will be offering free guided tours on Monday starting at 10:45 a.m. and at noon. Take a tour of the cemetery and don't miss out on the President Lincoln's Cottage tour as well if you have time and there is space.
Grand Opening of the National Harbor's Capital Wheel
If you're not too afraid of heights, be sure to stop by the National Harbor for the a breathtaking view of DC and surrounding areas from 180 feet above.
