WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA9)--A. Hickson says the potholes on Military Road in Northwest DC are worthy of our Pothole Alert.
Hickson tells WUSA9, "I am playing dodge the potholes during my daily commute....Could you please investigate and have someone repair them. It's a commuter nightmare."
This is not the first time WUSA9 has heard complaints about this major commuter route. We have reported on this pothole plagued road since February. The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) has been out multiple times making repairs. Unfortunately these repairs could only be temporary patches because of the wild winter weather we had.
MORE: Where To Report Potholes
DDOT spokesman, Reggie Sanders, writes WUSA9, "We have provided pothole support on Military Road. The overlying issue here is that the roadway needs a total paving because the potholes have been refilled numerous times in the past 4 months, the roadway is uneven and bumpy."
Sanders says weather depending, the paving work should probably start before June. DDOT also has to consider traffic patterns along this busy road.
During the meantime, road crews were out Thursday morning doing yet more patch work on the newly formed craters.
If you have a pothole that is driving you crazy, shoot us an email by going to TellWUSA9. We can't promise you a new paving job, but we will try to get it patched. Please include a cross street or unit block if you can.
