WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Cherry Blossoms will be in full bloom this weekend, and so will the traffic to the Tidal Basin in D.C.

The best way to get to the trees is to take Metro. The closest stop is Smithsonian on the Orange and Blue Lines, or use Foggy Bottom, L'Enfant Plaza, and Arlington Cemetery.

You can drive there, but it will be extremely congested, and there is very little free or nearby paid parking available. Handicapped parking is at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt and World War II Memorials and near the Washington Monument and the Thomas Jefferson, Lincoln, Korean War Veterans, and Vietnam Veterans Memorials. Ohio Drive between Independence Avenue and Inlet Bridge is one way, northbound during the festival.

It's going to be beautiful out, and biking may be a good option. Capital Bikeshare and other vendors have rentals within the National Mall.

You can get to the cherry blossoms by boat using Potomac Riverboat Company. Or for $1 a ride the Martz/Gray Line shuttle will take you through East Potomac Park.

You're going to do a lot of walking, Smithsonian Metro is about half a mile from the trees. The Tidal Basin is 1.8 miles around. The Hains Point loop is approximately four miles. The distance from the Lincoln Memorial to the Capitol is two miles.
