WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Here are five things you need to know on Thursday, April 10:

5. Thursday will be breezy and warmer, just beautiful. A weak cold front will trigger some showers late Friday afternoon and night. Right now we think outdoor plans are safe until late Friday afternoon. While there could be a lingering shower early on Saturday, it's looking very nice for the Cherry Blossom Parade.

4. D.C. police chief Cathy Lanier admits she doesn't know if Relisha Rudd will ever be found. She says they'll keep looking for Relisha, but the sad reality is, they missed those first three hours that are critical when it comes to saving an abducted child. Many are asking questions about Relisha's mother, who people say should have protected Relisha the most.

3. D.C. Firefighter Lt. Kellene Davis may be in the clear after a 77-year-old man died across the street from the fire house she commanded. Davis has submitted a new request for retirement, one that may be on track for approval and may allow her to skirt any possible punishment.

2. Police were out searching a pond in Fairfax county Wednesday looking for something in connection with the murder of a beloved Alexandria piano teacher, Ruthanne Lodato. Police would not say what they were looking for or if they found it. Lodato answered her front door in February and was shot to death.

1. A contractor working on Metro's Silver Line narrowly made a crucial deadline. Bechtel submitted paperwork Wednesday showing Phase One has been substantially completed, just before a daily $25,000 fine was to kick in. This means the airports authority, which is overseeing the project, has 15 days to look at the work.
