WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- The District Department of Transportation may close lanes during off-peak travel times on the 11th Street bridges, related ramps and some parts of the Southeast/Southwest Freeway and local streets until June 30.

DDOT said the construction activities will start Thursday and will possibly impact I-395, I-695 and local streets.

No lane closures will be allowed over the holiday weekends, DDOT said.

The following off-peak lane closure is possible on weekdays, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

· One lane on the ramp from eastbound I-695 (Southeast/Southwest Freeway) to the outbound 11th Street bridge.

The following off-peak lane closures are possible on weekdays, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.:

· One lane on O Street SE between 11th and 12th Street SE.

· One lane of 12th Street SE from O Street SE to M Street SE.

· One lane on the ramp from the inbound 11th Street bridge to westbound I-695 (Southeast/Southwest Freeway).

· One lane eastbound or westbound on M Street SE, between 10th Street SE and 12th Street SE.

· One lane on the I-695 entrance and exit ramps at M Street SE.

· Reducing 8th Street SE to one lane, between I Street SE and Virginia Avenue SE.

· Reducing 11th Street SE to one lane, between I Street SE and the bridge south of O Street SE.

The following nighttime closures are possible from Sunday to Thursday, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.:

· One lane on O Street SE, between 11th Street SE and 12th Street SE.

· One lane on the ramp from the inbound 11th Street bridge to westbound I-695 (Southeast/Southwest Freeway).

· One lane on the ramp from eastbound I-695 (Southeast/Southwest Freeway) to the outbound 11th Street bridge.

· One lane of 12th Street SE, from O Street SE to M Street SE.

· Up to two lanes on M Street SE, between 10th Street SE and 12th Street SE.

· One lane on the I-695 entrance and exit ramps at M Street SE.

· Reducing 8th Street SE to one lane, between I Street SE and Virginia Avenue SE.

· Reducing 11th Street SE to one lane, between I Street SE and the bridge south of O Street SE.

The following closures are possible on weekends, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.:

· One lane on O Street SE, between 11th Street SE and 12th Street SE.

· One lane on 11th Street SE, between I Street SE and the bridge south of O Street SE.

· One lane of 12th Street SE, from O Street SE to M Street SE.

· One lane on the I-695 entrance and exit ramps at M Street SE.

· Reducing 8th Street SE to one lane, between I Street SE and Virginia Avenue SE.

· Reducing M Street SE to one lane, between 10th Street SE and 12th Street SE.

DDOT said the contractor will be conducting mobile activities throughout the project to make sure that the construction meets and/or exceeds District requirements.

Drivers are asked to be careful when behind slow moving work zone vehicles with flashing lights.

The construction work may be cancelled, rescheduled or extended depending on weather.
