WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened in the 4500 block of East Capitol Street, Northeast, Saturday evening.
Police said deputies responded to the incident around 6:08 p.m. to the area of East Capitol Street and Benning Road, Northeast, Washington, D.C., for the report of a shooting.
Once they got to the scene, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, authorities said. The man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy was performed.
The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Kevin Marzell Leonard of Southeast, Washington, D.C., authorities said.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
