WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Metropolitan Police Department is looking for a man in connection with an assault that happened in the area of the 1500 block of Morris Road, SE, Sunday early morning.

Police said they are looking for a man in connection with an assault with intent to commit first degree sexual abuse, which happened around 12:15 a.m.

A woman was walking in the area of the 1500 block of Morris Road, SE when she was approached by an unknown man who grabber her around the neck and forced her behind a nearby school, where he tried to sexually assault her.

Police said the victim fought off the attacked and she ran away from the scene.

The man is described as a black man, brown skin, in his 30's and about 5 feet 7 inches tall. He has a medium build, low haircut and was wearing blue jeans and a white shirt at the time.
