WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Trains on the Orange, Blue, Yellow and Green lines will operate regular weekend intervals on Metro between March 14 to March 16, except for the Greenbelt station on the Green line and the Franconia-Springfield station on the Blue line. Red line trains will run every 16 minutes between Shady Grove and Glentmont, with additional trains providing service from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. between Farragut North and Silver Spring.
The Rock n' Roll Marathon will be taking place on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. and street closures will start at 7 a.m., according to authorities. Several streets will be impacted by the street closures, including Constitution Avenue. Authorities said the streets will be reopened on a rolling basis once the last runner has passed. The street closures will run through to 2 p.m.
Authorities advise riders who plan on taking Metro to the Harlem Globetrotters and Washington Wizards game against Brooklyn Nets on Saturday or the Washington Capitals game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday at Verizon Center should add an additional 30 minutes to their commute.
