WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- WUSA9's Bruce Johnson reports that Ward 8 Councilman Marion Barry is returning home, a day before he turns 78.
Last month, Johnson reported that Barry was moved from Washington Hospital Center to a physical rehabilitation center.
On Feb. 13, the former mayor spoke to Johnson and said he is feeling better. In a tweet, Johnson said "Talked to Marion Barry from his hospital room. Wanted me to say "he's feeling better."
The former mayor was taken to the Washington Hospital Center in February and hospitalized for 16 days in January.
The 77-years-old he has had a long history of heath issues including diabetes, prostate cancer and a kidney transplant.
