COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police responded to a three vehicle car crash that happened near southbound I-95 south of Rt. 212 in Prince George's County Saturday evening.

Maryland State Police said investigation shows that a 2003 Suzuki GSX-R 600 motorcycle was going at a very high rate of speed southbound on I-95.

The motorcycle then hit a southbound Volkswagen, which cased the driver of the motorcycle to lose control. Police said the motorcycle driver then landed on the travel portion of the highway. He was then hit by a tractor trailer going southbound.

Police said the motorcycle drive has been identified and is dead.

Authorities said the crash is still under investigation by the Maryland State Police College Park Barrack, the crash team and commercial vehicle enforcement division.

Prince George's County Police and Prince George's County Fire Department is also helping.
