ASHBURN, Va. (WUSA9) -- New evidence came out today in the Loudoun County murder case against Braulio Castillo, who is accused of killing his wife Michelle.

More than a dozen of Michelle Castillo's friends came to a preliminary hearing today, where a judge determined there is probable cause to move the case forward to a Grand Jury.

The Ashburn mother of five was found hanging in her bathroom shower the morning of March 20. Prosecutors say she was beaten and strangled by her estranged husband who then staged her body to look like a suicide.

Prosecutors called a crime scene detective who showed pictures of clumps of hair found on Michelle Castillo's bedroom floor and a brownish stain on her pillow.

Prosecutors say Braulio Castillo sneaked into Michelle's home, murdered her, then sneaked out. Prosecutors called a neighbor who has surveillance video that shows a person going toward and coming out of the home. A former friend identified the figure as Castillo by the way he walked.

Braulio Castillo has not been able to post his $2 million bond and remains behind bars.

He has not been able to access all of his assets because some of his property was owned jointly with his wife and because she's deceased, their 21-year-old son Nicholas is controlling her interests now.

Castillo has a hearing on Monday concerning accessing his assets in order to post bond.
