ANNANDALE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Six people have been displaced after a fire broke out at a townhouse in Annandale on Saturday night, say Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department officials.

Firefighters arrived in the 7400 block of Jayhawk Street at approximately 9:30 p.m. Saturday to find smoke coming from the vents in the rear of the middle, three-story townhouse. Officials say firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and quickly brought the bulk of the fire under control in the basement.

Officials also say that firefighters spent approximately 45 minutes locating several pockets of fire within the walls.

No one was home when the fire broke out, according to fire officials, and there were no injuries.

Four adults and two children were displaced due to the fire.

The fire, which investigators have determined was accidental and cause by an electrical anomaly in the basement, caused an estimated $100,000 worth of damage.
