WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department have made an arrest in the July 2013 shooting deaths of two men in Southeast.
Twenty-two-year-old Carlton Maurice Johnson of Northeast has been arrested and charged with two counts of First Degree Murder while Armed in connection to the deaths of 19-year-old Anthony Chase and 27-year-old Eric Leeper.
On Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at approximately 11:39 p.m., police heard several gunshots in the 300 block of Ridge Road. Police say they found three adult male shooting victims in the area.
One of the victims, identified as Anthony Chase, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two victims were transported to a local hospital, where the second victim, identified as Eric Leeper, was pronounced dead.
The third shooting victim, an adult male was admitted in stable condition and was expected to recover from his injuries.
