ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- A fourth grade teacher from Charlottesville, Va. pleaded guilty Thursday to having sexually explicit online chats with a 15-year-old girl.

Authorities said Corey Shock, 44, of Charlottesville, Va. was indicted on May 29 by a federal grand jury for online coercion and enticement of a minor.

The teacher is facing a least 10 years in prison and a maximum penalty of life behind bars once he is sentenced in August 2014.

According to authorities, the fourth grade teacher stated he had sexually explicit online chats with a 15-year-old teenager from Woodbridge, Va.

Shock sent sexually explicit pictures to the teenager and asked her to do the same. According to court documents, the teacher did this with several other minors over a two-year period.

Dana J. Boente, United States Attorney for the Easter District of Virginia made the announcement Thursday after the plea had been accepted by U.S. District Judge Claude M. Hilton.
