ALEXANDRIA, Va. (USA Today) -- Battling cancer takes more than just medicine. It requires inner strength, too.
Addy, a 5-year-old girl diagnosed with Stage IV cancer, finds inspiration through Katy Perry, specifically, her song Roar.
In November, Make-A-Wish Foundation helped another 5-year-old, Miles Scott, aka Batkid, suit up as his favorite hero for the day. The story went viral and prompted thousands of people to descend upon San Francisco to watch the little boy, who is in remission from cancer, be a hero for the day.
They're hoping for a similar swell of support for Addy. The girl from Alexandria, Va., wished to make a music video, with her singing Katy Perry's Roar. Make-A-Wish stepped up, filming a fully produced video of Addy. It starts out with her singing into her hairbrush, then impressing her classmates during a talent show, and, finally, wearing a purple wig just like the pop star, walking the red carpet and signing autographs for her adoring fans.
Here's the heartwarming video.
