ALEXANDRIA (WUSA9) -- A man was shot and rushed to the hospital in Alexandria on Sunday night, police said.
The shooting happened at approximately 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of North Payne Street and Wythe Street, according to police.
Police responded to a report for multiple gunshots. When they arrived, they saw a man who was shot in the chest, they said.
He was rushed to the hospital, where he remains in stable condition, police said.
Alexandria Police wanted to make sure the public was notified that this case is not connected to the Ruthanne Lodato homicide earlier in the month. They say the details in the case are too different to connect the two shootings.
