WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- A disappearing sidewalk is driving WUSA9 viewer Cynthia Outlaw crazy.
She wrote to us about a missing stretch in front of her NE D.C. block, "It was a year ago July 2013 when I first made a complaint. To this date, there is no date for repair... PLEASE HELP"
Cynthia even sent us a picture. When we visited, that stretch of sidewalk along Kearny Street the sidewalk was still missing.
It just morphs into a mess of dirt and mud, then back into sidewalk. It looked dangerous. We called D.C.'s Department of Transportation (DDOT). Reggie Sanders of DDOT said he'd research it.
By the day's end, he emailed, "DDOT is aware of the sidewalk issue. Our plan is to complete repairs in that area within a week, if not sooner."
We wanted to give Cynthia the good news, and knocked on her door, but she wasn't home. We'll keep on top of this and let you know if DDOT keeps their word.
