WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Officials say Former Redskins tight end Fred Davis, who turned himself in to DC Police, appeared in DC Superior Court Thursday afternoon.

Davis plead not guilty to a simple assault, and misdemeanor charges of threats to do bodily harm. He was released on his own personal recognizance.

A status update for Davis has been scheduled for August 28th. Davis is being represented by Attorney Bill Martin.
