ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- The Alexandria Police Department said Wednesday for the first time publicly that they will focus the murder investigation on Charles Severance in the killing of Ruthanne Lodato.
Alexandria Police Department is still investigating the deaths of Ruthanne Lodato, Ron Kirby, and Nancy Dunning.
Authorities have not made any arrests in the homicides, but have focused the investigation on Severance. According to authorities Severance is now the primary focus.
Throughout the investigation authorities have received over 1000 tips, including connections Severance may have with the homicides, authorities said.
Alexandria Police said Charles Severance is now the focus of their investigation in connection with three homicides.
The police department stated it has been a complex and time-consuming process. The investigation continues.
