MARYLAND (WUSA9) -- Officials have issued a warning to 'boaters and anglers to avoid the Upper Potomac River, including its swollen creeks and streams.'

The warning is in effect until Monday from Cumberland to Little Falls and is based on information received from the National Weather Service and the Maryland Emergency Management Agency.

This warning does not apply to professionally guided river trips during this time, officials said.
