ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Officials announced a 30 year sentence for a man who was willing to pay the price to have his estranged wife killed.
Daniel Mendoza, 52, was sentenced to 30 years in prison on June 9. He has been found guilty of one count of 'Solicitation to Commit First Degree Murder' in February.
The incidents occurred on March 5 and March 6 when Mendoza asked an acquaintance, who happened to be a police informant, about hiring someone to kill her. Authorities then assigned an undercover officer to pose as a hitman, officials said.
