WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Pepco is reporting over 20,000 customers who are affected by power outages in the area.
See below the number of people affected by county, according to the Pepco website, as of 11:30 p.m.:
District of Columbia: 92
Montgomery County: 5,745
Prince George's County: 1,773
In an e-mail statement Tuesday night, Pepco said: "Pepco crews will be working around the clock tonight to restore power to the more than 40,000 customers left without power after strong thunderstorms moved through our service territory this evening. Strong winds downed trees, power lines and poles. We expect to have power restored to all customers by the end of the day Wednesday. More detailed times of restoration will be available by morning."
