WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Officials have arrested and charged a man for felony child neglect and driving under the influence with a two-year-old in the car.
It happened on May 25 around 10:04 p.m. when Police responded to a crash on the 13500 block of Quate Lane. They found a car with significant damage. According to witnesses, the driver, identified by Police as 32-year-old Kwame Asomani fled the scene carrying a small child occupant.
Investigation revealed that Asomani lost control of the car which crashed into a parked, unoccupied car. The force of the collision caused that car into two other parked, unoccupied cars.
Officials say Asomani was determined to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
The two-year-old boy was not injured in the incident and he was released to other family members, police said.
Asomani has been charged with felony child neglect, driving under the influence, 2nd offense in 5 years, and hit and run, police said.
