ARLINGTON, Va. (WUSA9/AP) - Emergency officials say a worker was killed when a piece of equipment tipped over at construction site in Arlington.
A large excavator at a residential construction site tipped over around 3:30, killing its 45-year-old operator this afternoon.
According to the Arlington police department, it's the second construction incident at this development in the past two months,
It's possible that in the process of trying to lift something that that's what caused the equipment to become unstable and start to tip over, police tell WUSA9's Mark Albert.
A person reached at their offices said the management company would not be commenting. The state occupational safety and health program is now on the scene.
Fire officials say the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are investigating the accident.
